Anime Zero Leveling Guide
Level gates are the real progression wall — here is the fastest route through them
Why levels matter in Anime Zero
Levels gate more than content — they gate codes and raids. SORRYFORDELAY needs level 25, TRIALSPATCH needs 35, and NEWRAID, UPDATETWO, ARISE67 and SORRYFORZEDELAY all need level 50. The Spirited Away raid is Nightmare-only and effectively assumes a leveled build. Every level you gain unlocks more of the code haul, which in turn funds the rolls that make leveling faster.
The route: Nightmare Story repeats
Story Nightmare is the highest XP-per-hour activity in the game — TechWiser's progression guide is blunt about it: do not waste time on lower difficulties if you can clear Nightmare, because it gives significantly more XP and better materials per run. The loop: run the latest act you can clear comfortably on Nightmare, spend rewards between runs (skill tokens into damage/crit), repeat. Drop to Hard only if Nightmare clears stall — two fast Hard clears beat one slow Nightmare.
While grinding story for evolution materials, use the convert system at the crafting NPC to swap story items into whichever specific material you need — nothing goes to waste.
Level bracket plan
| Levels | Activity | Unlocks at the end |
|---|---|---|
| 1-10 | Story Easy/Normal + redeem all codes + group reward | A real build (Legendary+ weapon, both slots filled) |
| 10-25 | Story Hard → first Nightmare clears | Level 25 codes: SORRYFORDELAY (50 Rerolls, 25K Coins, 5K Gems) |
| 25-35 | Nightmare Story repeats + skill tree damage/crit nodes | Level 35 code: TRIALSPATCH (150 Spins, 300 Rerolls, 1M Coins) |
| 35-50 | Nightmare Story + first Infinite runs for coins | Level 50 codes: NEWRAID, UPDATETWO, ARISE67, SORRYFORZEDELAY + raid eligibility |
| 50+ | Spirited Away raid (Flame Director pity) + Infinite wave 50 | The endgame loop: raids, titles, evolution bills |
Passive XP while away
The AFK Chamber pays passive rewards (coins, gems, lucky spins) while you are offline — collect when you return. AFK Infinite mode passively collects materials. Neither replaces active Nightmare Story for raw XP, but both make your offline hours count toward the grind.
Combat habits that speed up clears
- Dash constantly. Walking is too slow to dodge boss attacks; dashing is the default movement in combat.
- Spam abilities. No mana system — held skills are wasted DPS.
- Learn your combo. Documented patterns like Mochi Commander's First-Third-First-Second turn random mashing into rotations.
- T-swap for boss phases. The +20% switch-in damage window multiplies your burst.
- No timers exist. A patient clear beats a dead rush every time.
Leveling FAQ
What is the max level in Anime Zero?
Not definitively documented — the game is Early Access and the October updates raised the effective level ceiling with raids assuming level 50+. The practical endgame starts at 50, when all level-gated codes and the Spirited Away raid open up.
What level do I need for Anime Zero codes?
Most codes work at level 1, but several need higher levels: SORRYFORDELAY (25), TRIALSPATCH (35), and NEWRAID, UPDATETWO, ARISE67, SORRYFORZEDELAY (50). The game shows a level requirement error if you are under — the code is not expired.
How do I level up fast in Anime Zero?
Nightmare Story repeats are the fastest XP — farm the latest act you can clear comfortably, spend skill tokens on damage/crit between runs, and use the AFK Chamber for offline hours. Only drop to Hard if Nightmare clears stall.
What level is the Spirited Away raid in Anime Zero?
The raid is Nightmare-only and gated behind story progression rather than a hard level number, but level 50 (where NEWRAID and the other level-50 codes unlock) is the community benchmark for being raid-ready.
