Anime Zero Game Modes

Story, Infinite, Defense and three raid-tier modes — with the actual payout numbers

Anime Zero runs five core modes plus raid content. The play loop: roll weapons in the Arsenal, dual-equip and T-swap mid-run, clear rooms to the act boss, then spend rewards between runs on skill trees, crafts and traits. Payouts were reworked across the October patches — Story Nightmare pays 15,000 coins per clear (Oct 2 buff), Infinite pays per wave (Oct 4 rework), and raids gate the best weapon in the game.

Story

Unlock: From the start

The main progression mode. Acts move room to room through rubble fights and end on an act boss. Normal enemies drop crafting materials (drop rates were reduced 15% since Oct 4). Acts on Sakamoto (Uzuki boss) and HxH (rubble-gated, added Oct 1) are documented.

Nightmare clears pay 15,000 coins and 350 gems after the Oct 2 buff, with a 40% trait crystal chance

Infinite

Unlock: Early (check the mode board in lobby)

Survive escalating waves. Materials drop from wave 16, with better drops at 31 and 46. Beyond Limits (wave 100 in one run) is one of the milestone titles. AFK Infinite is also a passive material source while away.

Per-wave coin and gem payouts since Oct 4: wave-50 Nightmare pays 21,000 coins and 2,450 gems, then 1.35x per wave after 50

Defense

Unlock: Early (Sakamoto Defense)

Hold a line against incoming enemies. Bring a dual equip that survives sustained damage and keep T-swap and perfect block ready. Movement speed traits matter more here than anywhere else.

Spirited Away Raid

Unlock: Update 1 — Nightmare only, after Nightmare Story

The Update 1 raid: bathhouse waves ending in No-Face. Flame Director (Hu Tao, in-game Paramita Pyre) drops at 2% with a 35-run pity. Both materials — Staff of Homa (25%, 5 pity) and Ghost (33%, 1-3) — awaken her. Clearing the raid boss without using your Ultimate as Flame Director earns the Flame Director title.

Flame Director 2% drop (35-run pity), Staff of Homa 25% (5 pity), Ghost 33% (1-3 per run)

Shadow Gate Raid

Unlock: SHADOW MONARCH update (late October)

The SHADOW MONARCH-era raid. The S-Rank Hunter title (+18% damage, +20% HP, +3.5 movement speed, +6% cooldown reduction, +3% crit) drops for clearing it twice as Shadow Monarch without dying. Raid-specific weapon drops are still being documented — treat single-source claims carefully.

Trials

Unlock: Update 3 (TRIALSPATCH era)

The Update 3 mode. The Silver Calamity title comes from killing 20 Bosses and 1,000 Enemies in Trials. Media coverage is still thin — most tier-list sites do not cover Trials yet, so our Trials page is one of the few English resources tracking it.
